
Dr. Alisha Poonja is a podiatric surgeon practicing in Calgary, Alberta, with a focus on limb preservation, diabetic foot care, foot reconstruction, and sports-related injuries. She treats a wide range of foot and ankle conditions both non-operatively and surgically, including bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, arthritis, fractures, tendon disorders, wounds, and diabetic foot complications.
Dr. Poonja earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed residency training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. She is a member of the Section of Podiatric Surgery within the Department of Surgery at the University of Calgary and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Poonja is the Director of the Rose Zivot Fellowship in Limb Salvage and Foot Reconstruction, Canada's first postgraduate podiatric surgical fellowship. Her academic interests include limb preservation, surgical education, clinical research, and multidisciplinary approaches to improving patient outcomes.
