
Dr. Avery Wynick (she/her), MD, MSc, CCFP, is a family physician based in Edmonton with a practice focus in 2SLGBTQ+ health. She completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario and her Family Medicine residency at the University of Alberta.
Dr. Wynick currently practices at the University of Alberta Adult Gender Program, where she provides gender-affirming care, and at the Edmonton Birth Control Centre, supporting patients who face barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive healthcare.
Within the scope of 2SLGBTQ+ care, Dr. Wynick provides gender-affirming hormone therapy, letters of support for gender-affirming surgeries, HIV PrEP, doxy-PEP, and trauma-informed, gender-affirming primary care. She is actively engaged in medical education from pre-clerkship through residency and serves as the Gender and Sexuality Theme Lead for undergraduate medicine at the University of Alberta, as well as the clinical lead for the Prairie Queer & Trans Healthcare Mentorship Group.
