Bayode Shittu

Dr Shittu is a Consultant Psychiatrist with specialist training and expertise in Forensic Psychiatry. He completed his psychiatric training in the United Kingdom and holds the UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Forensic Psychiatry and Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). He is licensed to practice medicine in Alberta.

His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of adult psychiatric presentations, including mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and complex mental health presentations. He has a particular interest in comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnostic clarification, formulation, and evidence-based treatment planning.

Dr Shittu takes a thoughtful, patient-centred approach to assessment and management, with attention to the interaction between psychological, social, developmental, and medical factors. He works collaboratively with primary care and other healthcare professionals and aims to provide practical, evidence-informed recommendations that can be incorporated into ongoing patient care.

He is particularly interested in supporting primary care clinicians with diagnostic clarification, medication management, and management of complex psychiatric presentations.
