Dr. Wegenast received his Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physiology at the University of Alberta in 2013. His time at the University of Alberta continued as he went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine in 2017 and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2022. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Wegenast has received additional training to perform nerve testing and obtained his diplomate (EMG) with the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN). He has also pursued training to perform interventional procedures under fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance. He is a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta and University of Calgary.
