Dr. Flood is an academic urogynecologist who initiated the urogynecology and pelvic floor clinic at the University of Alberta. She promoted pelvic floor physiotherapy and started the first international nurse-run pessary clinics beginning in 1993. She has a long career as an educator and is heavily involved in subspecialty recognition of urogynecology at the Royal College level. She has an interest in gender care bottom surgery, female genital cutting, and the associated urogynecology issues associated with these conditions. She built a multidisciplinary team in urogynecology and is a strong promotor of conservative management.
