Dr. Charles Metcalfe graduated from the University of Calgary Medical school in 2008 after completing his undergraduate degree from Sacred Heart University (CT, USA) while playing on a NCAA Div 1 hockey scholarship. He then went on to UBC for his Urology residency and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Afterwards he pursued a two year fellowship in Urologic/Robotic Oncology and Endourology at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA).
Dr. Metcalfe has been active in research, clinical outcomes and education. He has authored many peer reviewed manuscripts, chapters in textbooks and has presented at numerous national/international conferences. Robotic Oncology and Endourology (stones) have been areas of focus, although GENERAL UROLOGY remains a passion- BPH (minimally invasive treatment), LUTS/ voiding issues, hematuria etc. Above all-patient-centered care and good communication and support with general practitioners.
