Dr. Christina Thornton is a respirologist at the Foothills Medical Center and is appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. She practices respirology and subspecializes in cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and respiratory infectious diseases. Currently, Dr. Thornton's research interest is evaluating the role of the lung microbiome in respiratory diseases, and she is involved in multiple clinical trials. Dr. Thorton completed her MD/PhD at the University of Calgary in 2016 followed by her internal medicine residency and pulmonary fellowship. Dr. Thornton also completed postdoctoral training at the University of Michigan in microbiome analysis.
