Dr. Colbert is an accomplished cardiologist with an extensive background in both clinical practice and academic medicine. Dr. Colbert completed her Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biochemistry/Microbiology & Immunology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree and Clinical Epidemiology Graduate Diploma at the Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University, in St. John’s, NL.


Dr. Colbert holds several qualifications, including Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology, and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.


In her professional career, Dr. Colbert has held numerous significant positions. She is currently the Director of Physician Wellness in Cardiac Sciences and the Medical Director of the Echocardiography lab at Peter Lougheed Centre. She has also served as the Program Director for the Adult Echocardiography Fellowship Program at the University of Calgary. Additionally, Dr. Colbert is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Colbert has been recognized for their excellence in clinical teaching with numerous awards over the last 15 years and continues to be actively involved in teaching and mentoring the next generation of cardiologists. Clinically, Dr. Colbert’s interests are echocardiography, valvular heart disease, non-complex congenital heart disease and acute coronary syndrome.
