
Dr. Justin Chia completed medical school at Western University and his dermatology residency at the University of Calgary, earning board-certification in Canada and the United States.
Dr. Chia is passionate about patient care, education, and clinical research. He has won major awards for his contributions to dermatology including the Canadian Dermatology Association Residents and Fellows Society Excellence in Resident Teaching Award, the Early Dermatology Researcher Scholarship, the Cumming School of Medicine New Teacher of the Year Award, as well as the University of Calgary's P. Regine Mydlarski Research Award. He has also published his research in top international dermatology journals.
Dr. Chia has spent time at both the National Institutes of Health in Maryland and the University of Pennsylvania studying complex and rare dermatologic diseases. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary and has a special interest in the use of dermoscopy for diagnosing skin cancer and inflammatory skin diseases. He enjoys all aspects of the dermatology field and practices medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology.
When not in the office, Dr. Chia enjoys traveling, photography, expanding his culinary skills, and spending time with his wife and children.
