
Dr. Marc Shaw, BSc, BMedSci, FRCSC, is a General Surgeon based in Grande Prairie and Calgary who has a clinical focus on oncoplastic breast and general surgery. Alongside his wide scope of clinical practice, he holds significant provincial leadership roles, serving as the Medical Director of Community Specialty Care and the Chair of the Quality Stewardship Committee for the Alberta Medical Association. In these capacities, his work centers on healthcare system transformation, clinical quality, and resource stewardship. Regionally, he serves as the Associate Chief Medical Information Officer for the North Zone, advancing medical informatics, workflow optimization, and the integration of artificial intelligence in clinical settings.
Dr. Shaw is also highly engaged in medical education and faculty development. He is an Associate Clinical Professor within the Division of Surgery at the University of Alberta and has served as the Lead of Teacher Support for the Northern Alberta Medical Program. Through his combined clinical, administrative, and educational roles, he continuously works to improve both patient outcomes and the medical learning environment.
