What will be covered in the product demo?

How long does a demo take?

The demo typically lasts between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on your questions and interests.

How secure is communication with Alethea?

Alethea prioritizes security and compliance. Our platform is designed to meet the needs of Primary Care Providers while ensuring secure communication. You can use it during patient consults or after hours, depending on your workflow preferences.

How does Alethea compare to other eConsult platforms?

What are the costs associated with Alethea?

Alethea offers various pricing plans to suit your practice needs:

  • Alethea eConsult: Our basic, free version for sending eConsults, along with the optional use of our proprietary digital otoscope free of charge.

Alethea Plus: Allows for eConsults, use of a proprietary digital otoscope, and additional features. Alethea Plus helps generate revenue through automated billing, and we handle billings and payments according to AH guidelines. Details on billing activities are available on our pricing page.

Is Alethea compliant with privacy regulations?

Alethea's privacy and compliance program is designed to align with the applicable privacy and health information legislation in each jurisdiction in which it operates, including Alberta's Health Information Act (HIA), British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), Saskatchewan's Health Information Protection Act (HIPA), and other applicable privacy legislation.

Is Alethea approved by Health Canada?

Alethea's eConsult functionality does not require Health Canada authorization as a medical device. Alethea also includes optional AI-assisted diagnostic decision-support functionality. This AI functionality is intended to support healthcare professionals and does not replace clinical judgment or make autonomous clinical decisions. Alethea is currently reviewing the applicable Health Canada medical device classification and regulatory pathway for this functionality.

Has Alethea completed a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA)?

Alethea maintains privacy and security documentation to support healthcare organizations implementing the platform across different Canadian jurisdictions. As an Information Manager/service provider, Alethea supports physicians and clinics with the documentation and information needed to complete their applicable privacy assessment requirements. Where a PIA is required, the healthcare custodian or implementing organization remains responsible for completing and, where applicable, submitting its PIA in accordance with the requirements of its jurisdiction.

Are patient images in the Alethea AI database secure?

Yes. Images in Alethea's AI database are securely stored in Canada and protected using the same privacy and security safeguards applied across the Alethea platform. Images used for AI development are de-identified and stripped of patient-identifying information and metadata before being included in the AI database. Access is restricted to authorized personnel.

Is there a conflict of interest in receiving payment for eConsults?

There’s no conflict of interest. Alethea Plus users are reimbursed for their eConsults, with billing managed through AH codes and guidelines. This system is designed to acknowledge the value of eConsults for both physicians and patients, and we cover the cost of the digital otoscope and facilitate access to care without financial barriers.

Does Alethea operate nationwide in Canada?

Currently, Alethea is active in Alberta and is piloting in British Columbia. We aim to extend our services across Canada in the future. If you have any questions about using Alethea in your provicne, please email sales@aletheamedical.com.

Can Alethea be integrated with my EMR system?

We currently offer integration with AVA and are planning to support more EMR systems in the future. Stay tuned for updates!

Is Alethea available in the US?
